GETTING YOUR DOG FIXED

While it is estimated that 75% of American dog owners have decided to spay or neuter their pets, there are still thousands of animals are euthanized every day due to unwanted pregnancy. If you have a puppy or older and discussion of the choice to spay or neuter your pet here are some things to consider.

If your pet is female, then the option of spaying or neutering your dog can be facilitated by the long list of undesirable side effects of an "intact" women. For example, a non-castrated woman is very hard to stay away from men, when in the heat, and these men are not allowed, you can even dig under the fence to reach it. Females in heat suffer mood swings, and are also prone to bleeding for 10 days, twice a year. On the other hand, care of new puppies can be more expensive than having the dog sterilized. Unless your dog is AKC registered and are prepared to handle the costs of sterilization, vaccination and registration of new puppies to itself is likely that your dog is "free to a good home." Many dogs "free" are so easy to adopt the new family can not consider the costs of caring for a dog. If you're tired of a free dog, you're going out in a shelter because nothing happened to your pet and are saving money to do so.

For owners of a male dog, the choice may seem so simple. Most men have to take your dog to "manhood", on grounds such as laziness, depression and weight gain why not neuter their dogs. Research shows that such concerns are inaccurate, weight gain and laziness are contributed to canine diet, exercise and age. For men who are submissive, castration can actually improve your personality, while the dominant or alpha male can display more dominant after castration. Neutering your dog is actually good for your health as it eliminates the risk of testicular cancer. While the responsibilities of the new cubs are lower for owners of dogs, a responsible person must ask if you can guarantee that your choice will not cause injury to another home.
