IF YOUR CAT STOPS USING LITTERBOX

A cat suddenly stops using the litter box is making a statement: something is wrong. If your cat uses the litter box should be your first call your veterinarian. Could be a disease (urinary tract infection is a serious disease and requires prompt veterinary care.) Once you have ruled out a medical reason for other possible causes include a dirty litter box, change the type of litter you use, or maybe something that scared the last time you used the litter box, the anguish introducing a new pet or baby in the house or moving to a new home.

Here are some steps you can do to get your cat back on track:

Destroy Evidence - Once a cat has marked an area with urine or feces, the cat, of course, can be considered as a suitable area to relieve himself. Do everything you can to eliminate any trace of odor from the "problem area." Clean thoroughly with a liquid enzyme cleaner or vinegar. It can also cover the area with a plastic carpet peak face up, put self-adhesive shelf paper with adhesive side up, or aluminum foil. If your cat still can not resist the area, try placing your food there. Cats are not likely to urinate where they eat.

Refresh - Your cat sense of smell is about 1000 times better than yours, so clean the litter box thoroughly and be sure to remove the feces and urine groups every day. If your cat does not respond to a clean litter box may need to be replaced. old litter box can become scratched and permeated with a scent your cat finds disagreeable.

Make Over your sandbox - Hooded litter boxes are designed for owners of cats. Try removing the hoods and rethink the location of the boxes. Must be in a quiet place, away from the places convenient way to access their cats. Keep boxes away from bright lights, loud noises, and vibrations from washing machines or furnaces. If your house has several floors, have a box on each level. Finally, do not place a litter box near the cat food dishes.

Litter Law - cats prefer fine-grained sand, as it is softer on sensitive legs. Many of the clay litters low power tablespoon of powder in the market today are generally acceptable to your cat. It is also recommended that the unscented litter and many cats are repelled by the smell of perfumed litter. For the same reason, it is a good idea to place a room deodorizer or air freshener near the litter box. A thin layer of baking soda placed on the bottom of the box will help absorb odors without repelling your cat. The smell should not be a problem if the litter box is kept clean. Once you find a litter your cat likes, do not change types or brands. Constantly change your cat litter could result in your cat not using the litter box. An exception to change their waste is to use a special formulated cat litter problem. I had an experience with a kitten very hard not to want to use the litter box. I tried all the tips and tricks and nothing worked. I went to a local pet store and one of the vendors I spoke to Dr. Elsey Cat Attract cat litter as soon as I started using my cat (who never used the litter box before) began to use the litter box. I was surprised. Once I found that was sufficiently trained gradually I started mixing a different brand with the cat attract over several weeks as the use of cat attract all the time can be quite expensive.

De-stress your cat - Stress is the main cause of litter box problems. Fortunately, there are many things you can do to help ease the mind of your cat. Cats are territorial by nature and need to feel safe in their environment in order to relax. Therefore, households with multiple cats make sure each cat has a separate area with their own containers, litter box, and the bed or high perch to relax. Playing with your cat for at least 15 minutes every day and make sure you have plenty of toys to play when you are away. Be sure to show your cat a lot of attention and love and praise her when she uses the litter box.
